After hanging up his leathers Alan continued his involvement with the sport by sponsoring a number of riders. Current British Superbike rider Francis Williamson successfully rode for Twistgrip for two seasons and in 1993 Kevin Wholey won the U. K. Riders National Championship on a Twistgrip Motorcycles TZ250.
