Skurrays

Skurrays of Swindon has the distinction of being amongst the longest founded motor dealers in the country. In the late 1800's Mr Skurray (a local mill owner) became one of the 1st people in the Swindon area to own a motor vehicle. Working within the mill owned by Skurray was an employee who possessed an outstanding aptitude for mechanical repair to motor cars, an essential skill at the time to keep these very early cars running. As the word spread about his employees ability Mr Skurray seeing an opportunity established Skurrays Motor Garage in 1899 to understand the growing demand for his repair services.
