He also has a University of Sussex Masters degree in conservation.

We are committed to the guiding principles and standards of object conservation, which include: careful condition assessment, stabilization and cleaning through to repair and sensitive restoration, respecting the integrity of our cultural heritage. All work is recorded, and can be fully documented if required. Preventive conservation is offered including collections survey, storage and transportation consultation and proper display and environmental maintenance.

read moreConservator/restorer - David Burton has over 20 years of commercial furniture conservation/restoration experience. He gained an HND (distinction) in furniture studies and graduated from West Dean College with a Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma (distinction) in furniture and related objects conservation. David has a (conservation studies) Masters Degree and is a member of the Institute of Conservation (UK) and the International Institute of Conservation. Our other restorer Alex also graduated from West Dean College with a College Diploma and a Professional development Diploma in furniture and related objects conservation.

read moreAll conservation/restoration work is undertaken by our clock conservator Dip. West Dean, he is an Antiquarian Horologist and a Member of the British Clock & Watchmakers' Guild. Together we specialise in the conservation/restoration of 17th - 19th Century clocks. This important movement was manufactured by the London firm DENT - most famous for producing the movement for London "Big Ben". After careful dismantling and cleaning the movement is re-assembled, lubricated and ready to run. The valuable patination of the old brass is still in tact due to professional and ethical treatment.
