read moreEuropean Geophysical Services was established in 1994. Today we are a leading borehole geophysical logging and video surveying company providing a large range of measurements and services to the water, environmental, mining and geotechnical industries. Clients include many drilling and exploration companies, most of the water utility companies, major engineering and site investigation companies. Our success is based on an excellent and reliable field service coupled with many years of experience of geophysical interpretation, efficient data processing and high quality reporting.

James joined European Geophysical Services in 1996, 18 months after it was formed, as a geophysical logging engineer. He had previously work on various surface geophysical projects. Rhys did 4 years post graduate research on various mapping and structural geology projects, followed by 6 years as a geotechnical engineer in Ireland and the UK. He joined European Geophysical Services in 2011.
read moreThe detection, location, orientation, and size of fractures are important in most geotechnical, hydrogeological and geological investigations. Acoustic and optical imaging are convenient and cost effective ways of obtaining such information. These techniques provide an orientated, 'unwrapped' image of the borehole walls which may be used for core orientation or after structure picking for detailed interpretations. The Optical Imager contains a precision machined prism and high definition digital camera assembly which permits high quality images of the borehole wall to be recorded at 0.5mm intervals vertically and 720 pixels per 360 horizontally.
