read moreDuring my time as a learner I had a number of different teachers, and ali was certainly the best. An excellent temperament, good sound advice and I very much doubt you will find another Instructor of this quality that charges such a competative rate. Having already failed my test twice, I then received eight hours tuition from ali East London driving school and passed with 4 minors on my sheet. I like to think that I owe some of that result to the structured programme that EAST LONDON DRIVING SCHOOL follows.

read moreThree months before your 17th birthday you can apply for your provisional license - or as soon as you're 16, if you're disabled and receiving mobility allowance. Then once you're 17, you can legally drive a car on public roads in the UK. It's okay to start practising on private land, as long as the site is gated and far away from public highways. But remember, supermarket car parks are classed as public roads, so don't use these. Before you start learning, make sure you can read a number plate in good daylight from 20.5 metres away - that's about five car lengths.

read moreIf you're struggling to learn to drive, you could try switching to an automatic. An automatic car is much easier to start, stop, and steer. It has just two pedals (accelerator and brake) and far fewer headaches for the novice driver. The big advantage of an automatic is that there's no clutch pedal. That means you won't have to worry about stalling, crashing your gears, or finding the bite point. You can concentrate on the road while your car's automatic gearbox sorts out the gear changes for you.
