The theory test was introduced to make sure that new drivers have a more indepth experience of the highway code, how to cope with hazards, road signs, basic vehicle maintenance checks. The test consists of 35 multiple choice questions. To pass you need to answer at least 30 questions correctly. You are allowed 40 minutes to complete the test. The test is taken using a touch screen computer. You must pass the theory test before you are able to book a driving test. Your result will be handed to you within minutes of finishing.
